Andrea's Story

This year's President's Challenge theme of Mental Health is close to Andrea's heart and she feels privileged to be able to run to raise funds and awareness for mental. Trained in Mental Health First Aid, she started a mental health initiative called LoveTembusu while she was in Tembusu College in the National University of Singapore to raise awareness about mental health and to equip students to support their peers who might be struggling.

Andrea has always felt that the mental challenge of running long distances is similar to the mental struggle individuals might face when living with mental illnesses. She hopes that, through running alongside many other inspiring individuals in Relay Majulah, she will be able to show others that long-distance running, just like recovery from a mental illness, takes resilience, courage, and a lot of discipline. We might be running the physical race but those running the race to recovery are the true champions.
