Jie Shi's Story
Running gave Neo Jie Shi the opportunity to represent Singapore in the women's marathon at the SEA Games in 2015. The following year, it led her to a qualification for Rio Olympics. Prior to these, she has never imagined herself representing Singapore in any sports, much less in a major game like the Olympics. She is extremely grateful for all the opportunities and experiences running has given her.
Running has also humbled her and taught her resilience, determination and perseverance. Relay Majulah is a meaning project and she could not think of a better way to contribute to the community by doing what she loves - running. She is inspired by anyone who displayed grit and resilience in the face of adversities, especially people who shown great determination to overcome all odds to realize their dreams.
She hopes that through her participation in Relay Majulah, she can encourage more people to care for the less fortunate and help those in need. She also hopes to inspire all beneficiaries to stay positive, resilient and determined in the face of any adversities.
