Marie Choo never felt herself to be the running sort, till 5 years ago when a health scare served as a wake-up call for her to take charge of her health. This led her to embark on her fitness journey to do just that, and she has gone from not being able to complete 2 Kilometres, to completing a full marathon of 42.195km in 10 months. In fact, Marie has even gone so far as to take up trail running, and even doing 50 and 100 Kilometre, all the way up to 100 Mile runs! Her project, ‘I RUN FOR RESCUE DOGS’, started as a personal initiative, raising awareness and funds for no-kill dog shelters in Singapore, and Marie has personally raised over $80,000 in total to help these dogs in need.
As a Singaporean who is proud to call Singapore her home, Marie is very honoured to be part of Relay Majulah to raise funds to help less fortunate Singaporeans who need our help and support. To Marie, every little bit goes a long way, and every dollar counts. In her words, ‘Together, we can make our country a better place for our less fortunate countrymen. Our home, our heart, our Singapore.’
Marie Choo hopes we can all come together, to continue to be a nation built with love, kindness and compassion, through her participation in Relay Majulah.
