Before joining the National Arts Council, where Pau Tan currently serves as Deputy CEO, he was a broadcast journalist and also worked at the Singapore Tourism Board, rolling out public campaigns. His involvement in the Singapore arts scene - as programmer, administrator, writer or simply as a member of the audience - spans years. Today, he claims that he 'remains energized by the NAC's mission in championing diverse and distinctive arts that inspire our people, connect communities and position Singapore globally'.
Mr Tan is a believer that no matter what our background, it is important for us to recognise our place in the community, and remember how it has supported us in our personal growth, and most importantly channel positive energy back to the community as a gesture of gratitude. He also believes that it is meaningful to push ourselves to do new things, break new limits, and get out of our comfort zones, for a good cause and for others.
Mr Tan is excited to be part of Relay Majulah, which he calls ‘an innovative and meaningful campaign - to build a stronger community.’
