Mr Raymond Lim has been in the electronics industry for over 20 years, covering the South Asia Region, and starting running 5 years ago after 15 years of having an inactive lifestyle. He realized that he was being out-performed by his then 9-year-old Rayson. Mr Lim saw this as his wake up call to rethink his lifestyle, wishing nothing more than to be able to grow old and yet take care of his 4 young children, his wife, and both his and her parents. This change in mindset led him to have a more active lifestyle, and from a naïve overweight ‘uncle’ runner struggling with a 5 Kilometre distance walk-run race, to becoming the Champion at Cameroon Ultra (Cultra) 2019’s 55 Kilometre Veteran Category, he dedicates this to everyone out there, that dreams do come true if one is willing to believe and work hard towards it.
To Mr Lim, running is a gifted ability, and being given this opportunity to participate in Relay Majulah is nothing less than an honour. Through his participation, he hopes to create awareness that whether we are wealthy or poor, there will always be people who need help in one way or another.
In Mr Lim’s own words, ‘Let's all come together, to make a difference together.’
